10_stuartkain.jpgHunslet Hawks RLFC are delighted to announce that Stuart Kain has joined the club on a 1 year contract from Featherstone Rovers.

Kain 24 made 4 starting appearances for Featherstone Rovers in the Championship scoring 3 tries.

He played in Gateshead Thunder's promotion winning side of 2008 where he scored 19 tries in 22 appearances, he is a ex Castleford Tiger junior who also had a spell with West Magpies in Australia.

Director of Rugby Darren Williams said "Stuart was unlucky to be at Featherstone at the time when they had some real quality in their backs, they offered him a lucrative contract to leave Gateshead so they obviously rated him highly."

Williams added "He links into the line very well and certainly knows his way to the try line, he can also cover on the wing and will increase our options in the back's, he is our last major signing as we think were pretty well covered in every department although you never say never. We have managed to agree terms with every one of our targets and are in a healthy position now where we are declining approaches by players and agents."

Kain added "I am really looking forward to my stint with the Hawks and feel I have a point to prove having been released by Featherstone, I am only 24 and have the best years in front of me and aim to cement a regular starting spot in a successful Hunslet side in 2010."

Meanwhile the Hawks have also extended the contracts of Scott Bradley (Reserve Grade player of the year 2009), Luke Lacy & Joe Howey who forced his way into the first team towards the end of the 2009 season for a further 12 months.
