Hunslet Hawks RLFC are delighted to announce the signing of Tom Haughey from Featherstone Rovers on a 1 year contract.
Haughey 27 is a centre/back row forward and leaves Rovers after a 3 year spell.
Director of Rugby Darren Williams said, " Tommy is a top quality player whose strength near the opposition line and his aggression, are huge parts of his game. Without a doubt he is a Championship player and probably should be at a top four club. For us to convince him to drop a division speaks volumes for our progression as a club. He made 22 starting appearances for Rovers last season, scoring 16 tries which shows how highly thought of he was there. He brings with him added utility value and certainly knows his way over the whitewash. Without a doubt he will be a major player in Championship 1 for the Hawks as we make a promotion push this season."

On signing Haughey added, " I have looked at the Hawks squad and have been very impressed with their recruitment drive. I certainly see the club having a successful year and i am looking forward to making my debut. I have played with a lot of the players currently at the club and I cant wait to get started."
Haughey will train with his new team mates this evening.
