Hunslet Hawks RLFC are delighted to announce the signing of Luke Tomlinson on a 2 year contract.

Tomlinson a ball playing loose forward has just returned from Australia having been on tour with the Great Britain Lions.

Luke 18 is a former East Leeds junior and will join the Hawks for pre season training in November.

Director of Rugby Darren Williams said "We have kept our eye on Luke's career progression for some time and his selection on the GB tour was fully deserved, he now leaves the amateur game to join the Hawks on his first professional contract and we fully expect him to make his debut sooner rather than later in the first team."

Williams added "For us to be able to attract a junior International to the club speaks volumes for our progression over the previous 12 months and with Luke been a local kid proves that kids now realise that there is a viable alternative to joining a Super League side direct from junior rugby."

"I believe that this year has proved with the amount of local youngsters in our first team squad that the Hawks are the club to join if your ambitious and just want a chance to make the grade then the club will provide that opportunity."

Beeston born Tomlinson said "I would like to thank the Hawks for giving me this opportunity to move into the professional game, to tour Australia with GB was a dream come true and I know the standards I need to reach to make it as a professional."

Tomlinson added "I am looking forward to improving my game and working with seasoned campaigners like Richard Chapman and Steve Dooler who I aim to look to as mentors, I cant wait for pre season to start and relish making my Hawks debut."

Tomlinson will make his debut in a pre season friendly yet to be announced.
