Hunslet Hawks RLFC are delighted to announce the re-signing of long serving players Darren Robinson & Stuart Young on 1 year contract extensions.

The pair are the first to put pen to paper as the Hawks begin their planning for 2010 following their elimination from the play offs at Oldham yesterday.

Young 21 & Robinson 30 will both enter their 5th season with the club and are integral parts of our squad retention for next season.

Director of Rugby Darren Williams said "Although disappointed at our elimination yesterday this season has been an unrivalled success following our wooden spoon finish in 2008 to finish the League in a top 6 play off spot and to get through to the last 4 in the play offs was a tremendous effort and with several youngsters already signed on long term contracts the future for the Hawks looks brighter right now than at any time since our 1999 Grand Final winning side."

Williams added "With Paul March now confirmed as player coach for next season we will now move forward at a pace with a view to the retention of our current players and will also pursue several new signings that have approached the club recently, Robinson & Young are Hunslet through and through and they play with their hearts on their sleeve for the club's cause and they are the sort of characters that this club wants to build its base around."
