South Leeds and Hunslet Cars have agreed a substantial financial package with the Hunslet Hawks, whereby they will assist the club  in the recruitment of local talent into the Hunslet Hawks ranks. Owners Glen Harrison and Richard Holt have been impressed with the efforts the Hawks have made this year to recruit young talent from the local area. Richard added, “We already sponsor local youth set-ups wherever possible, and being local lads we felt it was an excellent idea to join forces with Hunslet Hawks, who are obviously trying to build a team with local talent to the fore.” Hawks General Manager Alan Stephenson added, “We have made determined efforts this year to try and recruit young quality players from the Hunslet and South Leeds area wherever possible. Despite the clubs recent spell in the doldrums, the area  still has a rich vein of unearthed talent at all age levels. We are grateful to South Leeds and Hunslet Cars for helping us in our quest to put the club back where it belongs, and return to the days when the club produced future international stars on a regular basis.”
